Hoping someone could help me with a question on the CMOS battery for the Averatec C3500 Tablet...
Well, as discussed on the old averatec forums, the C3500 Tablet had a known issue with it's CMOS battery. I was unfortunate to experience this issue and noticed right away that none of my bios settings would be retained after a shut down, and my system clock was always off. It didn't bother me too much, so i decided not to do anything about it. Well other issues started to turn up with the laptop, namely a contact problem with the screen which would display fuzzy at times(i would have to rotate the screen or tap the side of the frame to get it to come in clearly) and finally the exhaust fan gave out, and the system would overheat after a few minutes and shut down. I finally gave up on the laptop and bought a new one. I told my self I would sell the Tablet as is on ebay and get some money for it that I could use to cover the new laptop. Well that never happened and the laptop just sat there. I've recently found the inspiration to try to fix the laptop myself as it would get next to nothing on ebay, and when the laptop was working, it was actually pretty decent. So I was able to take it apart and remove the faulty fan and after a LOT of work, I found the problematic CMOS battery. So finally here's my question(sorry for all the extra background story): the CMOS I pulled from the system is labeled as a Varta 3.6 V 15mah. This exact spec is impossible to find. What I did find a ton of though is the 7.2 V 15mah. Will the difference in volts cause a problem for the system? Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to help me out!

Hello Brazkid.
Since you were successful in dismantling your Averatec C3500 and have replaced the CMOS battery would you mind providing instructions for the following:
1. Number and location of screws to remove
2. Where the CMOS battery is located
3. Does the battery need to be soldered in place or does it plug in?
4. By any chance do you have any pictures you could include of the laptop once it is opened up?
I need to replace the CMOS battery and am wondering if it is worth the trouble. Your answers would help greatly.
Thanks. -
By the way - for anyone that is looking for a replacement battery
