Trigem has brought the Averatec label under its control. What does this mean? I don't know.
I dropped them a note asking about support for now discontinued equipment using the Averatec name plate, and I'll report if or what reply I get.
My guess is at best they will maintain links to the same obsolete pool of drivers made available by the former Averatec, but once a unit is out of warranty they will only be happy to sell us new machines.

A pig in a poke is still a pig in a poke no matter what name they hide behind. I noticed now that when you hit the old Averatec site it redirects you now to Trigem. It boldly states they are the Averatec for world wide distribution. Unfortunately, you can no longer, at least for the moment, access any of the what appear to be discontinued products including most of ours.
I agree that most of the drivers were outdated but at least they were available. As you state, they would now be happy to sell you a new one. I hope they'll also understand I have the right to tell them to take their products and place them where the sun never shines.

You can still get to the old Averatec Customer Care pages - including drivers. Just point and click on the link before being shuttled over to the Trigem site.
No saying how long this arrangement will work. -

Only a guess, but I suspect Trigem is the Korean company that was a major investor in Averatec. They aren't killing the Averatec label, but appear to have taken direct control of the company.
It looks like drivers are available for most past & present Averatec models from Trigem - if you can puzzle out the pages (they are in Korean).

You will notice corporate HQ is Korea. Click the map on the Korea tag.
In the middle of the page is a link to drivers. Most of you will want the notebook link.
Select your notebook series. If there are multiple models, you may have to make some guesses. For example there are four 2300 series models, none of which directly match the model 2370 I have.... however, more than likely a 2370 is a 2370 is a 2370 when it comes to drivers. If you pick either 2370 model, you get the same download files.
Okay, now pick your OS. I'm running Vista. The file date on everything is March 27, 2008. Much newer than the stuff on the old Averatec site? We will see. I downloaded a couple files and will investigate whether or not these are actually newer files - I hate to sound too pessimistic, but will be surprised if they are. I'll let you know.
At any rate... the file description is in a mix of Korean and English. Don't panic. When I point at a file in IE7, my status bar shows the file to be downloaded. These names will pretty well identify what you will download. -

Yep, same old (or even older) files...
2370 display driver from Averatec site:
DriverVer = 02/10/2007, 7.15.11.0065 (aka 100.65)
2370 display driver from Trigem site:
DriverVer = 12/20/2006, 7.15.10.9755 (aka 97.55) BTW, this is the same driver showing on the site for the 2370's twin from Everex. the ST5340T.
Averatec now a label for Trigem
