Has anyone had this problem with Averatec support. How long did it take? They said they would send it back to me unfixed but it's still under warranty and I'd have to pay to fix it myself. It's very frustrating.

Averatec is well known for its poor support and lengthy repairs. As a matter of fact, their Customer Service reputation is the chief reason for me NOT considering Averatec in future notebook purchases.

I mailed my 2370 in October to have fixed. I picked it up broke for 100 bucks so i didn't care how long it took cuz i have a desktop and another laptop. Just got it back last week, took forever but I always had prompt email replies, usually within the hour. Sending hate mail ususally doens't make people want to reply as i'm sure most people have done to them. I was nice and wished them merry xmas and had a few phone conversations with them. They were excellent to me. Teleplan (where my 2370 was sent) was awesome, its Averatec's fault for not sending boards to them so they can fix the stuff.

As one of the recent victims of Averatec warranty support, it is a time consuming and frustrating experience. Mine is a 7155 and had a bad display, also under warranty. It was over 2 months. No one could tell you when the parts were coming in. After I got the run-around for the sixth time I got the Better Business Bureau involved, as well as the retailer where I bought it (OfficeMax) and the Cal. Atty Gen's office.

Never did hear from Averatec directly but I got the answer they provided to the BBB. A pallet of displays suddenly showed up from China, my unit was fixed in a day and had it back overnighted.

I don't fault the third party they use to fix these things but rather Averatec's really poor parts supply and stocking. They are definitely playing it on the cheap.

    Good luck!

    Rick
