Here's a head to head I need an opinion on:
Averatec 5110H vs. Toshiba A45-S130[?] They are comparable on cost & features and I narrowed my choices down to these and need help in making the final decision. Pros and cons. Thanx[ :)]

Seeing I have had no reply to this post. I will partially answer my own question. I went and got the Averatec 5110H. $1099.00 w/ $100.00 rebate at Staples. I can't comment on the Toshiba, but I love the 5110H! Very pleased w/ my purchase. The only thing I would improve on is the sound. With the speakers on the side vs. the top, it is not as loud as I would like when watching DVD's. Other than that the unit is flawless. At a $1000.00 you will not find a notebook that matches up to the features on this unit. I did alot of homework befor buying
(a $1000.00 is not pocket change). I would recommend the 5110 series to everyone.

    Great choice Waxman,

Toshiba makes a nice notebook, but that Averatec 5110H has features that would be almost twice the cost under the Toshiba label. The speakers on 9 out of 10 lightweight notebooks tend to be nothing to write home about, so don't geve that another thought. Just plug in a nice pair of Sony phones to watch your DVD's! Great luck with that machine and GREAT choice! [ ;)]
