As I was looking through the Tiger web sight I just couldn't help but notice the physical similarity's between the 17" Systemax Medallion XVII laptop and my Averatec 7100 Series Laptop. Yes the specs are different but the physical exterior is almost identical. It says in the ad that Systemax computers are assembled and supported in the USA. At the Systemax web sight they show the innards of this computer which look like my 7100 Averatec. Systemax computers have a 3 year parts and labor warranty.
    Check it out.

Systemax just assembles computers. Thus they very well could be Averatec parts/machines. On the otherhand, Averatec also uses other ODM parts, so it could all tie back to the few true ODMs around.

Actually, on second look. They are different. However they are still MSI products

The Systemax is a MSI EX700 series while the Averatec is a MSI L735.

You are all correct the MSI GX710-220 is also identical to the two others mentioned. It possible Averatec is simply an assembly plant in China where pieces of Compal, and MSI parts are joined. Compal is the world's 2nd largest laptop maker according to Wikipedia. It also say they build computers for other major manufactures. My Averatec 7100 series is probably a relabeled Compal computer, not that it matters.
