    i have had this laptop for the last 3 months.

    The Bad
    * the little rubber feet on the bottom of the laptop fell off right away, I had to super glue the ones that I could find
    * The Ctrl and Fn keys are in the wrong place compared to the other laptops that I have used, after a while you get use to, but it was very annoying in the beginning
    * There is no easy to find off button for the touch pad, when I'm typing its annoying when my hand accidentally touches it.
    * The head phone jacks are sitting in the front, this gets annoying when I'm playing games
    * No serial port.
    * Bad up and down view on the screen
    * It runs pretty hot.

    The good
    * Stable burner
    * Good Wireless connection
    * A button to turn off the wireless connection. (Useful)
    * Good side to side view on the screen.
    * No crashes, no driver problems, no extra hassle

    It does what I need it to do,
    It can play most games I have thrown at it.
    I would buy this laptop again.

    Funvill,

    you can adjust the palm sensitivity so that brushes against the touchpad while typing are ignored. Once i adjusted it, I have little problems typing with it. Go to mouse properties, Device settings tab, settings... button, then go to Sensitivity. You can adjust the palmcheck setting there. As for the rubber feet, i believe if you email Averatec about it, they will send you a set free. Outside of the hard drive which is under the left palm rest, i don't think it gets that hot, the vented air does warm up a bit though with intense gaming, but i don't think it is that bad. If you don't mind my asking, what do you need a serial port for? I don't really know of anything nowadays that uses serial.

    In addition the the wireless comments:
    I have posed quite a bit on this laptop myself and there has been alot of back and forth on the wireless in the laptop. I haven't had any real problems to date minus the occasional annoyances...and few drops but i wanted to post a SUPER strange occurance I had last night. I agree the the wireless is rahter weak in the laptop so I bought a dlink just incase ( i haven't used it yet) but last night I went to a friends house who live roughly 4 city blocks away in a differnt apt. complex from me, with one other apt complex and two subdivisions between us. Well I powered on the laptop expect to have to use my nextel to hop on the internet but would you believe that i was able to connect to my linksys wireless router!!!!!!

    I had two signal bars, and was able to connect!! Af first I figured it was a fluke so I re-booted and reconected and sure enuff I was able too with 2 signal bars. All that distance and "stuff" inbetween and I was connected!! Granted it dropped the connection every so often about 5 times in 4 hours... It was about half as fast mind you, but I did a speed test and was still able to to pull 2 meg down...not to shabby.
    Anyhow, just wanted to post this as a rebuttle to all the people saying the wireless was weak.. I was very impressed!!!

    I don't use the touch pad either, I just went out and bought a small memorex mouse. What's cool about this mouse is the scroll wheel changes different colors. I've had my notebook since september and I'm impressed with it. It's fast, compared to my desktop, the graphics card is pretty good. It can play the latest games fairly well. The battery life is not good but I know you can can battery extenders that will enable any notebook to be on battery power for about 5 hours. I don't even use the battery anyway so i'm not concerned about the battery power. Speaking of it running hot, I went out and bought a antec notebook cooler and when I'm playing a computer game the hard drive only get's a little warm. Even as I'm typing right now only one of the fan's is blowing out air, the back vent, the side vent fan is silent.
