Ok, just thought this was a bit odd.. I registered with the OCZtechnology Forum a while back.. I just went over there to see about BIOSes and see if there is any new driver support. I had no issues browsing threads, etc. I then decided to login to post a request for assistance. It turns out I'm banned from the Forums. I don't have access to Notebook support, but do have access to other forums. I'm wondering if anyone else has had any issues logging onto the Notebook Support forums.. Here's the link http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=168 - Anyhow.. guess someone there doesn't like me.![]()

e-mail them?!

I just tried loggin in and I had no issues browsing the DIY section. But if anything, it's no big deal taking into account the DIYforum rules (you can't post in other people's threads unless you build rep or something like that) and the lack of support and knowledge shown by the reps/moderators of that section regarding their own products. The people asking for help with the OCZDIY17a2 model were better off posting here than at OCZ DIY (which was why I registered, until I found out I couldn't post in other people's threads there

im hoping to be able to answer anything you may have soon enough and i can always make a quick call to ocz if im not sure and im always here to help. i have units coming in this week. once i have them in my hands ill have a much better overall knowledge of this system. you know me e i will try the best i can to know all there is about the system and im always trying to keep up on new details and updates. i know ryder is still around to check on things and i know ryder and you maybe got off wrong but ryder is a great guy and is very knowledgeable from dealing with him over at xtreme systems. remember he is only here to try to help us out. and dont forget we have other great resellers here to help as well.. like rob, justin, shane etc
i hope to have my website done soon but im not as good with web design as some are so its taking me some time. but its sweet to know im doing it myself. you can always pm me or any of the resellers here and im sure everyone will do there best to help.. -
Eh.. I was just checking up to see when the .29 BIOS was being released.. Im assuming it should be sometime soon.
-
Haven't you gotten used to being banned from forums yet? Why the surprise. ;þ
-
It's only a suprise cause I never posted anything to get myself banned. I only made 3 posts total there..

Shane@DARK. Company Representative
Strange that you got banned.

I can only assume that my disagreement and such here in NBR caused the banning. I didn't quite welcome the ocz guys with open arms. Still don't think that's a great reason to ban me elsewhere.

Oh.. zfactor, you mind hitting someone up at OCZ to find out about the new BIOS? And, do you have a reliable contact who you can convey info to? I've realized an issue with the BIOSes they've released so far. For some odd reason, when you overclock Crystal CPUID reports the FSB of the chipset dropping to 800MHz.. then the system overclocks the FSB and multiplier from there. I know cpu-z reports 1066, but obviously there is something going on here. When you get your rig give it a shot and lemme know what you think.

sure thing i just spoke with the lead guy in charge of the laptops. ill find out for you asap. i sent him a email now and ill call in the morning

what bios are people running now?
As I understand it, OCZ posted .28, and then pulled it for some reason and now only .26 is the only one available.
I just received my whitebook today and it has .28 on it and I am wondering if I ought to flash back -
E-wrecked, I had a similar problem with the OCZ forums. I've been out of the overclocking scene the last 3-4 years and tried to log on with my old login name and password and it wouldn't take it. I requested the info via e-mail and never got it, using my old e-mail address and new one. So I had to re-register. I came to the same conclusion: what's the big deal here?

I am the Admin over there, nobody banned you.
You can't see the DIY forum? You posted in the DIY forum last time you were over there. -
-
Back on topic,
E-wrecked, I reset your permissions, can you see it now?
I will say it 1 last time, when ATI write the driver and get it WHQL'd (whether it is 8.12 or 9.01) then OCZ will release it. I cannot give you what OCZ does not have.
They have been pushed and prodded for a firm deadline, but none has been given. -
i spoke with ati today ryder and was told they pushed back the official release of the mobility driver but he could not tell me why he just said this was the info he got from the tech dept there. just thought i would post that for you. also adrian said he would keep me posted and ill be sure to keep everyone in the loop as well for you guys.

I think I can surmise the answer.
Anyone who downloads the Windows 7 beta will find a nice little surprise waiting on first Windows Update--ATI 3870 mobility drivers from ATI already passed by Microsoft.
It's hardly a secret Windows 7 was coming out early January and ATI got some serious props for being first out of the box with MS certified drivers for Vista. Looks like they had the driver team working over time for Windows 7 as well
Banned from OCZ forums?
