I received my Nexus a few days ago. I have always used the notebook with the power adapter + battery.

The first two days, my battery was 100% charged.

The following days after that, it dropped to 99% and then 97% (When fully charged). All these in a matter of days!

Is there a problem with the battery?

You shoulnt have the battery fully charged with the cable plugged.
Run on battery for a moment so that it drops to ~80% then remove the battery completely.

Overcharging the battery speeds up the capacity drop wich is inevitable.

For it dropping %:s its just because the battery looses some power and the charger doesnt charge it up because its so high anyway. If you would run on battery and then plug in the cable it would charge it up to 100%

The battery can only have a certain maximum of load cycles.
If it would charge the battery every time when it's at 99, 98, or 97%, it would count those small charge periods as a load cycle.
This would cause wear and tear on the battery so it's a good thing when the battery doesn't recharge every time it looses only 1 or 2%.
    Cheers.

    Now I understand...

I just switched to Vista and thought it was a little weird.... "Says there 'Plugged in, not charging"

Now I must decide what is a better thing to do for the battery

    Another question...

The battery charges when it reaches 95%.

Since I use the adapter almost all the time, how do I set it to charge only after it drops below, say.. 40%?

I'm not sure if you can actually set a charging treshhold yourself, there is an informative Battery guide here on NBR though made by Chris Yano.
Maybe you can contact him and ask about such a setting.
    Cheers.

Or just take the battery out of the laptop? That way youll cause it the least wear (and if you really want to do it properly you put it in the fridge :D)

I've screwed my previous laptop once when someone accidentally switched the power off, and have lost work because of it.

I don't have a UPC and it be too troublesome to carry it around anyway... After reading the thread, seems like 95% is the norm before it starts recharging again...
