    Hi

Taking that all those 3 models are kinda equal atleast in the time the battery would last, im wondering how long your pc can hold power with brightness at a minimum and high performance power scheme? I dont know if its my battery thats a bit broken but mine only last 1:15 or something (1 hour and 15 minutes).

Could some of you be kind and see how long ur pc lasts?

    thanks

Remember that on a High power setting the CPU and graphics card does not downclock, so basically it's almost as running full load until the battery runs out.
Balanced power setting is normally the recommended setting for a laptop as it makes the CPU and graphics card up and downclock as needed.

It means that on high power setting you will get the lowest battery time possible, besides gaming until it runs dry, that will make the battery time even shorter.

Battery times on Zeptos site is meassured under the Energy Star 4.0 test, which means the LCD panel is tuned off and the WLAN, Bluetooth ect is turned off and the notebook is set to not turn off or go into standby. Then a timer is set and set to stop when the notebook turns off. It shows what the battery is capable of, but hardly show what you will reach under normal use.

Oh with the lcd panel off :S..

Well yeah i use high power for various reasons we dont need to discuss :p i've concluded that balanced scheme really makes a small difference, atleast for me...

Well Vista tells me that the battery lasts around 1:45 or so on High Performance, but I haven't tried that yet, therefore I can't validate the correctness. I usually use Energy Saver mode when on battery, and that lasts for approximately 2 and a half hours on my Mythos.

I always run Balanced on my Nox (with the annoying GPU power saving settings disabled ofcourse), brightness about halfway and WLAN on, and I get about 1:45 for light desktop work. 2 hours if I close the lid and play video over HDMI.

Hmm.. and thats 6cell both of you? Maybe i ought to get a new battery then.

Yeah i have to avoid any kind of CPU downclocking cause my laptop is faulty and the downclocking (speedstep) often freezes it... I do however use powermizer (gpu downclock) which is great.. The PC is noisy with the highest clocks at all times.

    Thanks for your answers :)

    Which CPU does it have?
If you have a T3200/T4200 or T4300 try this:

    ■ Press <F2> to enter BIOS
    ■ Go into "Power"
    ■ Choose "Advanced CPU Control"
    ■ Press <Enter>
    ■ Choose "‘C-State’ Support "
    ■ Press <Enter>
    ■ Choose "Disabled"
    ■ Press <Enter>
    ■ Press "F10"
    ■ Choose "Yes"
    ■ Press <Enter> to save the settings

Ah, still better than just one hour.. i might buy a 9cell but it just makes the laptop a bit uglier :\ Anyone with a 9cell in their nox who can show how it looks?

the thing is, if you have a 14 inch with a 9-cell battery the whole point of having a 14 inch laptop is pretty much non-existant as a 14 inch laptop with a 9-cell battery weighs as much as and is just as big as a 15 inch.

    God it's ugly...

I have an A15 btw, but it just gets to big with the 9cell imo.

Maybe just get another 6 cell (always good to have a backup) and tweak the power settings a bit then. Maybe some setting somewhere is draining it abnormally fast.
