I'm upgrading my zepto2425w processor to t7400 from a t2500 and wanted to know if i need to upgrade the bios so it will run. I haven't upgraded the bios on this system; is this something which i should do as standard or just leave it if i don't need to?
Never upgraded bios on laptop, only with desktop pcs. Is it the same? (don't have a 1.44 drive on laptop).
cheers

Check out Zepto's FTP:
ftp://ftp.zepto.dk/Notebooks/Discontinued_Models/Znote2425W/BIOS/
(If you use Firefox, you might have to reload the page a couple of times for the files to show up).
The PDF-files are in Danish, but basically you just burn the ISO, make sure to boot from it and plug in your powersupply. -
cheers...i've had a look at i've got 104b bios currently on the system. It looks like i don't need to upgrade teh bios as that bios supports the t7400. It just whether it's worth doing anyway...do you ever really see any improvement doing it?

Well a lot of different things can have been fixed in the BIOS updates, but if you are not experiencing any problems with your system, then don't upgrade unless you start experiencing problems after the CPU upgrade.

i'll be leaving the bios alone then! cheers
