I'm desperatly looking at any options for obtaining a Compal IFL90/Sager2090 in canada (i live in BC), but ordering across the border is looking to be too costly. Bizcom has an IFL90 flash advert on thier front page, and claims to be a Compal branch company, but the laptop is not listed anywhere in thier catalogue, only the older HEL laptops are. Does anyone know anything about Bizcom? Why they aren't selling the IFL 90, even though they have it advertised?

I don't know much about Bizcom, but I've gotta ask: Why is it too much to order over the border? I'm in Saskatchewan, and shipping is only 50-ish bucks for the 3-6 day shipping at XoticPC. Even with the exchange rate, the total difference for my order (1700-ish US) was about 50 CAD.

Termight, what other fee's did you pay? Taxes, customs, etc? I was looking at PCtorque, but the apparently "hidden" fee's for ordering from the states were turning me to look for in-canada solutions.

Hasn't arrived yet. I've heard conflicting reports about customs. Sometimes you'll get hit, sometimes not. I believe there's something in NAFTA about electronics, but I'm no lawyer, so YMMV.

Bizcom is a wholly owned subsidiary of Compal. Although I'm not sure of their policies for selling to consumers, you might want to check out the website for Bizcom Canada: http://www.bizcom-ca.com/home.asp. Good luck!

NAFTA only applies to items manufactured in the States, TECHNICALLY these aren't, just assembled. Nevertheless, you WILL get hit with normal sales taxes (GST + PST, if that's what you've got over there), as well as an additional brokerage fee unless you used USPS (which is around $80).

The IFL90 will be available in august at the Bizcom resellers, just received an email from them. Don't know about quality and service.

    I configured the sager np2090 at xoticpc.com for 1190$us
    -It's around 1240$ can
    -add ~35$us UPS ground shipping
-add 65$can for the UPS brokerage
    around 1345$can total

I think it will be cheaper to buy from xoticpc in US.
And it's a sager so the parts should be good (hd,ram)
