I'm having a different but maybe related problem.
I never got a black screen after resuming... what I've gotten is that sometimes, after the no-video screen saver kicks in (no cute graphics, just turn off the video signal)... then the screen won't turn on again. The computer is still working perfectly but no video.

The solution: close the LCD lid, so the computer goes into suspend mode. Then open it again so it resumes, and now I have video again....
Quite the opposite from what you say but maybe it's related. Only in Windows.

I had the same problem with my nc8430 until I updated the video drivers BACK TO the manufacturer drivers. I would suggest you try that.

Barspi's problem sounds closer to what im experiencing, But i still think there was a windows hotfix that fixed this problem all together, not sure though. If anyone has link to a site or forum post that would be really nice.

It would occur to me that if you know the name of the hotfix, you could use a search engine in a manner such as "KB47509287345 hotfix download" (this is not the hotfix number)

Hotfix number is kb923232, but I can't find any downloads. Found only RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack 2.1.3 which contains the files for this and many other hotfixes. But these files is ment to be copied to the Win XP SP2 install cd.

The description at the MS site is exactly the problem I have
I don't know why they don't let you download the fix just like that... some managerial moron must have decided it's not convenient for some idiotic reason.

On the other hand, I'm very unconfident about downloading patches from non-official sources... how do I know they don't have a trojan or something in there?

Plus, that hotfix is for English XP, and mine is in Spanish.. it may still work though...

I was able to see the folder containing all the hotfixes using Megaproxy, but can't download them because of the trial-use limitations.

    EDIT:
Found the file elsewhere, but can't install because I have finnish Win XP... Maybe I just have to install english Win XP..

Apparantly laptopvideo2go checks the referer to make sure you click the link to that download from their site (probably to make sure those who use their bandwidth, see their ads). To download it, go to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/ms_kbs/ and then search the page for "windowsxp-kb917332" to download it.
