hey i'm new here, so don't expect me to know anything. I have a fairly old laptop manufactured by Amooba, running windows xp, but the screen is not turning on, but the laptop itself is on. Is there a way i can fix this?

It is not turning on means there is some problem with the display screen. You need to get it repair with a technician.
    I need some clarification,
You are saying that your laptop itself is ON, so it means that the voice is coming from the laptop itself when you turn it on but screen shows just black display.
