Is there an application to setup Bluetooth in the laptop?
I don't see any setup/passkey setting application, I have the application below but it doesn't help me much. I'm trying to pair my SCH-U540 but I get a windows say that the passkey is incorrect.
I would think that I would get also an screen in the laptop but nothing pops up.

Have you installed the Broadcom BT drivers/software application, if not do so.

The LAN card is from Broadcom, but BT is integrated in the board I believe, and you are saying that is Broadcom too?
Ok, I downloaded it and now it works. I had the driver before but there were missings several tabs, I just had 4 tabs, now I have 8 tabs, nice.
Also, when I used to enter the passkey in my cellphone it would tell me that the passkey was incorrect, now it waited and opened a message asking me to re-enter the passkey into the laptop message window, which I did, and now it works, thanks. However, I have the Send Name Card feature only, though.
One more question, though. The reason I wanted to use BT, is because I'm tire of taking the small SD memory card from my phone, put it in the SD adapter, put in the PCI express port and then get my pictures, I would like to do it using BT, but now I don;t see that feature in the phone, any idea? -
The bluetooth is also broadcom, in fact in Vista it doesn't work with drivers less then 6.0.1.6200
-
I actually got 6.2.6000.1 driver and is working smoothly.
The thing is that I use all those applications to view the laptop components, and I don't see a Broadcom BT, I see the drivers though, anyway, it works now.
I just need to find how to transfer the pictures from my cell into my laptop using BT. -
BT module is not intergrated in the mainboard.
Regarding the transfer for the picture to the notebook trough the bt form the phone is only possible when using the sony ericsson software which will allow the transfer. -
Why make things so complicated, it's possible to access phone's memory through build in bluetooth Data Transfer Manager.
-
Well if this is easy Wirelessman wasn't requesting support/assistance trough this form.
-
Can I use that application on my cell? may be not.
I have a mini SD card that inserts in the side of the cell, are you saying that I can use the BT Data Transfer Manager? Where is does that application resides at? -
Ok, I'll make a presentation with my k750i.
Coming soon.....
Ok, here the instruction:
1) Activate BT devise by selecting it in WSS tool.
2) Install the latest BT driver (personally I get BTW_6.0.1.6200 thought Broadcom update tool in Vista 64bit)
3) Activate BT on the phone side.
4) Search for devices and add your phone with providing a pass key for it.
5) Enter the pass key in the phone after it is prompted.
6) Now you should see a new folder in My Computer, just enter it to browse through your phone memory.
Have a nice file transfer, and don't forget about the feature of using phone as a BT remote. -
2. The latest driver is 6.2.6000.1
5. You must also enter the passkey in the other device to connect
I did not get the folders you got. -

You are both using a different type of phone, i know for a fact sony ericsson needs the software to get to the extra memory in the phone.
This will not work trough the BT aplication under WIndows XP. -
Yes, I know, my cell phone is a Samsung, SCH-U540. I wonder if I can download extra BT services.
-
Is you phone using the latest software, this might be out of date.
Extra services hmmmm, don't think so but you can always try to find some info.
You might use the software from SAMSUNG to get the phone to work, or setup you memory to be detected when connected to the notebook as memory/folder?
Check this I think it's not supported you need to take the memory card and use and external card reader.

Yes, that process is to move the pics into your minicard, but then you must remove the mincard from the phone and put it into a larger adapter, and I connect it into the SD slot in the laptop, then I can work with it, but is a pain in the neck to do the whole process all the time
Also, each time you remove the minicard from your laptop, you lose the images you use for the background (in case you are using an image in the minicard). So you must restore the image when you put the minicard back into the phone. -
The phone in my screenshot is in fact Sony-Ericsson K750i CID36 with some moded firmeware and I don't use any additional software, only standard BT driver pack from Broadcom.
And it works exactly the same way in Vista and XP. -
I went to Verizon web site and they confirmed that the SCH-U540 doesn't support the file transfer profile, that sucks, that's the issue with all these stupid new technologies, they promised the universe and they give you a little rock on the beach.

Can the topic be closed?
-
No body has given me any good idea how to do what I want. -
If the product you are using isn't supporting the data transfer, then what's the point of keeping this open.
I will give the idea, just take out the memory card and place this in the converter and then in to the cardreader.
Sorry but you know now this will not work with any other kind of solution provided. -
I just need the BT profile for file transfer into my cell phone, and I will be calling Verizon for their input, and I will share it here.
