    Broken Usb Sockets on laptop

    i have a hi-garde notino c5515 laptop
    the usb sockets at the back have all been smashed in since this has happened my laptop is unable to power up, unfortunately out of the warranty period, so a repair through hi-grade is going to cost £200, can any body help in what i need and how easy to repair this would be, any help would be really appreciated thanks

    If USB did not work I could tell you as I have done but not powering up? Is your board toast? To much wrong to guess!

    If you have a notebook with unprotected USB ports then a short on the 5V in the smashed connector might keep the notebook from booting. Clearing the debris might already solve this. But you won't know untill you try ;)

    I tried clearing away some debris last night from the broken usb ports on the back of the laptop, had a few scary moments as i never taken a laptop apart before, put everything back where it should be and laptop now powering up which is great!!! I have ordered a 4xusb pcmcia card adapter to replace the usb slots that are broken so fingers crossed i'll be ok until i can afford the full repair.
