Since I have found a very nice offer on a FL92-based notebook here in Denmark, I would like to know if the build quality of the FL92 barebone is good enough?

I'm going to use the laptop for university every day, which means it will trash around in my backpack. I've never owned a notebook before, so I don't know if laptops in general can take that kind of daily treatment? I've been looking at the thinkpads, but found them too expensive.

I carry my JFL92 with me almost every day and it has so far survived about half a year of this fairly rough treatment. Other than the lid getting scratched, it doesn't seem to mind being carried around too much.

They are relatively average use resistant but if you drop it, that's it, au revoir notebook.

If you are anticipating hard usage, get a toughbook from Panasonic, check its web site and you will understand why so many professionals including the police use them.

Heh.. I've seen the toughbooks on the web and how they tested them at the panasonic lab. They are very durable, but the price is way over my budget. I know that good quality comes with a price, but I don't want something like acer, that just falls apart. Thinkpads are neither drop-proof.

Very well-built. When I lift mine with one hand at the side of the notebook, there is absolutely no creaking or anything.
