    Hello everyone,

I've been following this forum quite a while and this is how I came across the HEL 80.

I now plan on buying a completely barebone HEL 80. This means I have to buy a lot of stuff to make it complete...

    1) CPU
    2) RAM
    3) HD
    4) WLAN
    5) DVD-Drive
    6) Battery

My first question: Am I missing something or is my list complete? I don't require Bluetooth or TV tuner...

Second question: The screen is the Glossy WXGA. How does this compare to the Matte WSXGA+?

Third question: Which Slimline laptop DVD(DL)-Rewriter would you recommend?

    Thanks

You'll need an Operating System too.
NEC drives are very good. Check www.Newegg.com, they have good prices.

I have an OS all set to go right here :) But you're right though, when building my first PC, I completely forgot about that heh.

The NEC ND-7550A seems nice indeed! Is it the right size? 12.7 mm? Because I read some (not a lot though) laptops require 9.5mm slim drives...

Another question: The WLAN card, it's teh type in this link, right?

Oh, and I'm from Europe, so Newegg probably won't be any good for me :)

    Thanks for your help!

HyperBaton, where are you purchasing your bare bone system from? I am looking for one. I have a half working Toshiba; HD, RAM, DVD+-RW all work fine. I need a system with the processor, and I would assume it would come with the graphics card already hooked to the motherboard.

Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

I'll be getting it from Zepto, although they don't usually sell the HEL 80 as a barebone, unless you're in IT business.

Check www.zepto.com, but I kind of doubt they operate in the States.
