Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to buy a zepto laptop just as a barebones (the 6314W model) and building it up myself, I understand that a zepto customer support is registered is on here, so I guess this is more aimed at him but I would also be interested in your opinions.

If the option of getting a zepto as a barebone I will probably go with buying the Znote 6314W which seems to be the best notebook for around £500 incl. P&P

I would buy it soon. Configurations keep going up and up and up in price. I certainly won't be buying from here anymore.

A configuration for the 6615W I made previously cost £900 with delivery and warranty or so, now that same config costs £1058...

On the other hand they are releasing a new DX10 notebook in a month or so, so the prices of current models could go down.

We normally don't sell the barebones by themselves. You have to remember that by buying a barebone, there is warranty on the barebone until you start taking it apart, after that there is no warranty from us anymore.
So if you encounter any problems with your machine related to the barebone you would basicly have to buy a new barebone (this is all theoretically).

I know :( I configured the 6314 two weeks ago that came to £510 but I had a look afew days ago and found they had put all laptops up by at least £80-120 (maybe Zepto realised that they can sell them for a few more bucks)

ReneS: I don't really care about warranties ;) I have only used one once and even I had already taken the item apart (I didn't say so though) and got a refund.
But anyway I know where i can a go 7600 BB for under £400 so I think that's what I might do.

And one other thing I just looked now (eng. website) and configuring the 6314W to get a 1.8GHz core2 duo will cost me £15,552,803,571,428,571,428,568,553,071.00  It's the truth!
I would upload a pic. but my internet connection has just dropped out.

It really changes the assumption that technology depreciates quickly.

would u mind enlighten me where u found that pls? :)

was thinking about holding off for a 6625 but that sounds like a great deal and might be worth the gamble, esp with the raises of prices lately.

Sure, you've got a choice 'tween an ATi X1600 or nVidia 7600

though I think the 7600 has only got 256mb. I would say eclipse computers is pretty good, but as the BBs are "special order" item you might have to wait a bit for postage. Anyway if you get can you give the pros & cons??
