    Hi,

I've purchased a Corsair SSD SATA disk.

It's supposed to push 380MB/s with read.

I installed it on Compal EL80, I ran a test with Ubuntu hdparm -t /dev/sda and I have to say the results are quite dissapointing.

I get 125-128MB/s when reading off of the disk itself, and about 980MB/s with buffered reads (so I reckon the interface is capable).

What gives? Is it a faulty SSD? Does the COMPAL have it like this, is it the hardware max performance of this computer platform?

    Regards,

Most probably your laptop doesn't support SATA 3.0..
