I ran that motherboard monitoring program the other day and it says my cpu is at a temp of 75 degrees celcius. I touched near the front of the notebook and it doesn't feel like 75 degrees celcius to me. Either that program is wrong or this CPU is designed to run that hot.

I have a HDD temp program that reads 75 too, but I don't think it's a real value. I don't believe the Averatec's have a CPU temp sensor, so the program is probably defaulting to 75 if there is no sensor.

Now, as for the HDD, it hits 40 - 44 C just sitting there, with a CPU fan even!!! When it starts climbing to 50C I tend to get crashes.

I would use HD Tune to check how hot your hd gets.

There is no way to check your cpu temps. But it is indeed possible to get the temperature of the HD using S.M.A.R.T. technology.

I use speedfan and HD Tune (just to see if there was a difference, there wasn't)
