Very compelling model. Just wondering what real world users think of the ultrabook. Thing's I've noticed I'm wondering about.

1: touch pad operation: Have they worked out the bugs? Is it reliable? I've noticed many new laptops have poor touchpads, it's actually pretty alarming that this key input device is being skimped on this way.

2: Is the laptop reliable? Anyone notice any key problems with reliability?

3: Hows the heat? I see there's an i7 version, wonder how it it gets...

4: Has anyone upgraded to 8gb? Is this something one can do on their own without breaking the bank? Sad to see it's limited to 8 GB on a 7i.

5: How are the screens? Viewing angle and PQ? I see one IPS, but wonder if the others screens are any good. How does it compare to other nice IPS screens?

6: How's the battery? Any extended battery options?

Couldn't find a pdf manual online that would describe how to do any potential upgrades. Such as memory as well as HD. Also surprised to find no VGA. Can HDMI be adapted to VGA?

Any insight on this ultrabook would be much appreciated. It looks sharp and the price seems to be right...

I happened by a Walmart today and took a look at a display model. I was pleasantly surprised that the screen viewing angles, I'm assuming it was an A0, were actually pretty decent. Yes, I can see the keyboard travel would take some getting used to. Also, the track pad, while not perfect, wasn't as bad as I was imagining it would be. The mouse traveled in the direction I wanted, and didn't jump around like crazy. It wasn't perfectly smooth, but not bad.

This of course was all done in around 5 minutes of playing with the laptop. I'd like to know what real world users are experiencing. All in all, pretty impressive little machine.

Yeah your new to this I guess so I'll fill you in. I just got my gf a 14 A0 and I have a 15 A2. Now with that said the 15 is way better and the A1 which I use to have is the perfect model really. I really don't know why people want the 14 inch because they weigh about the same and the 14 is not that much smaller where I say it makes a big difference. I like the 15 because it's bigger means trackpad spaces is bigger, the screen is higher resolution 1080p and it's pure matte. The 14 inch has gloss.

    1. the touchpad can be used but it's never going to feel good if you use it for work like click to drag or highlighting things. Main thing you have to tap to drag not click, just give up on clicking all together just forget about it. Touchpad is the worst thing about this pc. on the 14 it's even worse it's so small. Get a mouse period.

    2. Seems pretty fine to me I really don't know what could go wrong nothing. It's too early to tell but I doubt anything major could happen.

    3. There is no heat, not an issue. Where the heat comes out your hands are not there. The grill at the top.

    4. 8gb LOL, yeah right not possible everything is built into the board except wifi and hard drive. No upgrades at all. In another thread I took apart a 15 these computers are all the same inside it doesn't matter.

    5. Screens are very good better than most of the crap PC TN panels, I love the screens. 14 I hate the gloss.

    6. Battery is in the 4 hour range period, maybe low or high depends on you.

I got a ct14 A-0 for 500 (used) and a ct15 a2 for 600 (used) and these are like used for a week or two these computers just came out. With that said I would not pay full price for these computers the price will fall even more than they have. Nobody is checking for these computers and the trackpad is kinda a major issue. I still love the computer it's very very nice but I would not pay full price for them. I did at first but now seeing how this forum is dead and sale price just keeps dropping buy now only if your really need a new pc or just wait because in a month or two tigerdirect or one of these sites will be selling these at cost probably or lower.

Also in performance the difference between the A1-A2 is hardly I mean hardly noticeable almost to the point where I was say unless you really want a larger harddrive I would not even get it. Now the A0 is slower than the other two. That turbo boost makes a difference
