OK, I have been reading all kinds of different laptop reviews and I have what may be a stupid question!?!?!

Being that we have a desktop processor, I would have assumed (foolishly) that it would have a bit more horsepower than a notebook processor. I ask becuase, I ran the SuperPI program on my system to compare to what other users benchmark.

Mine came in at 2 min 23 sec calculating to 2M.

Is that about what everyone else gets? It just seemed a little slow to me being that I see folks in the sub 2 minute range.

I ran mine and it said 2 min 42 seconds. Everything in my notebook is stock except I have 1.25 gig of memory.

    I'd love to jump into this, but a few suggestions;

    a) post your system specs
    b) provide a link to the software download

I wonder if this app accesses the HD at all. We all know thats where the bottleneck is...

Mine clocked in at 2 min 23 sec!

System Specs: 6130HS, 3 Ghz, 1.25 Ram, 60 gig 4200 RPM hard drive.

It seems that all our laptops are running about the same, we all have upgraded our ram so i would like to see it run on a machine that is bone stock and see how it compares to ours.

I got about 2:25 as well.
An interesting thing to note: I had the task manager on screen while it was running. Task manager shows a graph for each processor and a total percentage. The total percentage was running at about 50%, but one processor was running at 20% while the other was running at 80%.

    http://support.averatec.com/downloads.asp

Try downloading the AGP driver or go into device manager and uninstall the processor from device manager and restart the computer. After restart the device will reinstall itself.

Easy way to device manager for those who do not know.
-right click on My Computer and select properties
    -select the Hardware Tab
    -Click on device manager.
-click on the + box beside processor (or any driver) to expand to show the driver(s)
-right click on the driver and select uninstall.a warning letting you know your about to remove the device will come up. Click OK

-you can scan for hardware changes after uninstalling the driver however this may not be the case. with that being said, its best to just restart the computer.

Hopefully this will help a bit.
