I can read but not burn CDs and DVDs in Vista x64.

Anyone else having this problem? Whenever I try the drive sounds like a 3.5" floppydisk :(

    I have an TSST SN-S082H DVD-RW.

With the new BIOS my drive was gone from windows. When I changed to SATA in the ICH Native mode meny it came back to Windows.

Should 32-bit I/O mode be enabled or disabled under "IDE Primary Master"?

Yes but with PATA the drive disappears from Windows.

I googled a bit and some other have similar problems. Some manufactor had special drivers that identified the IDE DVD-RW as an SATA DVD-RW and then it worked.

Update: I disabled the DMA mode of the IDE controller and could actually format one of my DVD-RWs :D
But then it was back to the same stuttering.
