This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Capitability with HGL30?

    I can't say this for sure as I cannot back it up by experience with the HGL30 which i simply do not have, but as from experience with other laptops, I'd have to say pretty much any kind of pata/ide drive would/should work in those barebones.

    Unless I'm missing something, that's a pretty standard IDE interface we have (at least I have, on EL80) in those laptops. Since HGL30 is pretty much el80's smaller brother, it would most likely work with any, yours included, ide optical or any drive.
