I recently reinstalled my laptop, and I have been having this 'problem' ever since. Everytime I turn my caps lock, scroll lock or num lock on or off it is displayed in the lower right corner of my screen. I have no idea what is causing this, and I don't even know if it's driver related and not caused by some other third party program, but I thought I might have the best luck here.
It looks like this:
![]()
Does anyone know how to turn this off? It is a bit annoying.

It's almost certainly because of a driver you have installed. Check the keyboard's properties in your system devices panel.
-
Are you using either an external mouse or keyboard?
I just realized my HEL80 does the same thing--it must be on the original driver considering I am still running everything stock. Perhaps you didn't notice it before as I had not? My Logitech driver creates a larger green message when I do the same thing. -
Mine doesn't do it.. but I don't have any keyboard driver that I'm aware of.. can you link it from bizcom?
-
Maybe it's because of the Bluetooth HID-profiles?

Huge kick.
The notification is caused by a process called bttray.exe. Killing it might fix the problem, but it'll break down you BT (or at least partially).
The solution is to edit this value in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\General\KeyIndication
Change it from 1 to 0. Reboot.
I doubt anyone will ever be bothered enough to find my solution, but hey, at least there is a solution.

Wow, man, thanks for that.
I was going mad here on my cousin's computer, trying to figure out how could I turn off that tip.
It's incredible that we only can change that option by going through the darkness of the Windows registry instead of having a simple easy-to-use interface.
Thumbs up for that one.

I'm so glad I sorted this out by myself and posted it here. I forgot how to fix it several times. Thanks TC03, you're a great guy!

I have made a .reg file with the needed edit of the registry. It changes the value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\General\KeyIndication to 0. Just like TC03 said.
The only thing you still have to do is reboot

Hope you can use it
