Hi all,
This is mainly aimed towards the Zepto staff who contribute to this forum, though any help would be most welcome...
I recently ordered a Znote 6224W and wish to make some changes to the spec, so was wondering where / whom I get in touch with as I still haven't received a confirmation email from Zepto, having placed the order on the 22nd of May and do not have an order number yet.
Also, I notice some of the prices have now changed; what's that all about?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Peter

Zepto checks all orders by hand before sending out a confirmation. Due to holidays and long weekends I suspect they are a bit behind but I am sure they have not forgotten about you. I dont know what country you are in but you can call/email them to change your order. Zepto is not that big and when you call it is easy to find the right person to talk to. Tel. number depends on your country and is listed on the homepage.

Hi Wave,
Thanks for that, I was just a bit worried as the only number listed on the UK site is a number for Denmark I believe...
Thanks again -
[email protected] or 0045 47371025. We will have 0845 number very soon

Iann was incredibly helpful and answered my numerous questions with regard to my order, and indeed Zepto in general with aplomb! His answers were concise, knowledgeable and alleviated all my concerns easily.
He informed me that the 6224W was due in to their premises on Monday the 4th of June and would start shipping from then, he also added that if I was not 100% satisfied with my purchase, I could return it for a full refund or replacement within 14 days; fantastic!
I absolutely cannot wait for my delivery and counting down the minutes...
Well done Iann, cheers mate. -
Yeah I got that info too. Looks like the 1st 6224W will ship next week. Too bad the 6625WD is still delayed a bit longer. Hopeing for a nice review soon! How long does shipping from Denmark take? Shouldnt be too long.

Yep I ordered around the same time (21st May) and spoke with Ian, via a 0045 number, he is a great member of staff at Zepto and they should be proud of his telephone manner (100%). I hope the rest of Zepto are to his customer telephone service standards.
p.s. Good to hear Shipping starts sometime next week, I take it the creditcard payments go through when shipment has been confirmed ?
p.p.s. I too have no confirmation via email, they must be checking orders with a microscope

Hi John,
They've taken my payment already and I paid a bit more on tuesday for a couple of add-ons so hopefully will be receiving the notebook early next week as I specified it without an operating system. Iann said once the systems are assembled they test with a generic hard drive then ship them, so hopefully will be quite a fast turnaround...
good luck pal,
Peter -
Dam ,I never checked my Credit card, just assumed it would be taken on shipment, but after your post, I double checked and your right, it was taken same day as order.
On a different note: I did alot of checking and comparing and there is nothing that came close to the 6224 for spec for what I need which is a small but powerful development laptop with DX10 compatibility & good resolution screen. At 14" & 1440x900 it fits the bill.
thx for your post Peter. -
I'm currently using a Vaio FE41Z and the screen's the brightest I've used; Iann assured me the Zepto screen is on a par with the Sony's so that'll do for me as I also do most of my work on my notebook, I agree with you that this is the best spec'ed notebook currently available... this is what I've now ordered:
Keyboard Znote 6x14W Black UK
14,1" WXGA+ 1440x900 - 6224W
6 Cell Battery
NVIDIA® Geforce 8600M GT

Can't wait... -

Par the HardDrive that's my spec too.. I can't wait too.
I have to say I made a mistake with my previous laptop, a toshiba Qosmio G20, what a heavy monster with 17" @ 1440x900. One of the reasons I got that was the 17" 500mcd/M brightness screen (one of the brightest) it looked stunning but the battery life was terrible and it was way too big. I learned my lesson, laptop means portable and the tosh was pushing it to the limit.
This time I think I got it right, nearly every detail of the spec suits my criteria except I needed a PCMCIA slot (pc card slot) but the Zepto has expresscard slot, but I read you can get a converter (for my 3G card). Unless someone knows of a Express slot 3G card ?
So till it arrives, and I do my mini review, I'm keeping busy trying not to think about it too much.

p.s. If Zepto had made a 13.1" 1440x900 screen version I would of bought that, but they don't DAM those 13.1" looks so sexy. -
Looking forward to some reviews guys!

Damn lads, just bought a shiny 6314W a couple months ago, and now i'm almost regretting my choice
Well, i'll have to satisfy upgrading my ram to 2 gigs..

Nothing beats the 1680x1050 native resolution on a 15.4" screen. Looks absolutly amazing on my 6615WD.
The 1280x800 on the 3415W is too low for that size if you ask me.
Go for the 6625. -
-
I had a 17" Qosmio (Tosh) and it's res was max 1440x900 (last year) with 500mcd/m screen and it looked amazing... now imagine the same res. on a 14" it will be pin sharp.
The question re 15" or 14" screen is more about portability, if Zepto did a 13.3" with 1440x900 with an nVidia 86xx 256Mb, I'b be on that wagon. Those things are so easy to use. -
Well, I'm glad to say I've had a bit of a rethink and sticking with my original 6224W order... Thew! Nearly lost it there for a moment!
I think I'm gonna order a 3415W for my son though as his HP went back to stockist recently due to faulty components. -
I do Graphical design among other things, (I did not order this laptop for gaming, but hey it's a plus). I can not find another laptop with the same specs. inc 14" screen, size, weight and portability.
The key factors for me is nVidia 8xxx (DX10) graphics/ 1440x900 (14") screen/ 7200rpm high speed 100GB HD/ 4GB high speed ram/ Santa rosa mother board (next level motherboard spec) and lastly, 2.4Ghz dual core cpu.
What more could I want ? 17" not for me I need portable. DD3 graphics card, nop, all I need is a DX10 card with 512mb for rendering with 3DMax & Maya, thats about it, O' I nearly forgot, Great comms with the vendor, and so far it's been good (very good) with Zepto UK.
Review will follow. -
So you guys weren't tempted by the hybrid hard drives that work the same as robson turbo memory?
-
I did some digging and comparing 7200rpm drive with the hybrid, the 7200rpm drives give a more all round performance. The hybrid drives don't come into play if you install dual boot (Vista/ Xp) system.
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/storage/charts25.html?modelx=33&model1=394&model2=416&chart=141
Also you can add a "BoostReady" USB stick to add the feature if I'm not mistaken. But I've seen ideas like boost memory before and nothing beats raw spin speed of a drive, in my opinion, some will disagree. Also you can add programs like clevercache etc to store commonly used files in ram.
I'm sure someone else could dig deeper. -
Is it just me or is anything above a T7300 no longer available? Is there a reason? Part of the reason I'm in the market for a new notebook is because I went El cheapo on the previous one, so I'm not too keen on doing it again. I would appreciate any info guys.

ON the 14inch models (6224,6024,6325) we have run tests on the chips and the 2.4 GHZ is unfortunatly not going to be available as it gets too hot. We are running more tests on the 2.2GHZ and the forum will be informed.
