has anyone with the wsxga+ matte screens taken the resolution down a bit? or taken them down just for games? can u do that? and is it all grainy or does it still look good? i was told that on the new laptops that changing the resolution to scale down is working alot better than in the past. Anyone with the ifl90 on hand able to answer?

For fast-paced FPS games, it's just fine, you get a slight fuzziness, but as a general rule, in a fast-paced FPS game, if you're standing around gawking at the scenery, you're already dead! ;)

For reading text (like in a web-browser reading this page), I tried a couple of different resolutions: 1440x900, 1280x1024, 1280x768, and 800x600. It was perfectly readable, but a little bit fuzzy again. Probably enough so that you'd give yourself some killer headaches if you used it all day long with non-native resolution.

If you're worried that the resolution is too high, you can always stay in native resolution, but bump up your font-size. I was worried that 1680x1050 would make text too small, but so far, I'm really loving it. (And hating having to switch back and forth with a couple of other computers with lesser resolutions).

If you just want to be able to read text more easily without leaving your native resolution try this:

right click on your desktop=>properties=>settings=>advanced=>DPI setting.

Change it to whatever you are most comfortable with.
