I gave my friend my old Znote and the charger doesn't seem to work on it - the light comes on so the plug is okay, but the charge doesn't seem to reach the actual laptop, it's completely out of charge.

Would any of these work on it? If not, what would? He's unemployed and has no money(I'm not much better) so he needs to get one on the cheap.

If not what would? Would I be able to get a cheap battery for it. Would any other makes/models work on it.

I'm not shure though, but i think Acer uses Lite-On -chargers too with their laptops. You could try searching for a such charger, just check that the electrical values are at least the same than in your current charger. And of course the tip has to be the same.

I have a gemstone blue, and the actual end that plugs into your laptop has a different shape.

Make sure you get a genuine Lite-on charger. NOT THE COMPATIBLE chargers from china etc.

We've seen dead mainboards caused by these unbalanced chargers.

And don't even mention the fact that they can suddenly burst into flames. I've seen a couple that have got soo hot they burnt the desk they were sat on. (idiot boss bought a couple as they were "cheap")

Which Lite-on charger is compatible though. The one for my Acer Aspire 6920G doesn't fit.

I have a couple of universal PSUs which produce 19V and have the same connector as used by Zepto (for the 6024W - so most probably the same).

A reputable universal PSU would be a sensible route to follow since you can then use it with various different notebooks.

Those can be pretty expensive though.

Perhaps one of these? Maplin has stores in Ireland.

Still not cheap, but less than the better known brands.
