Less than 4 months old and the screen went bad. Returned to Averatec only to have them claim the unit was not covered by the warranty because the unit was damaged. BS! Never dropped and not a scratch or dent on the unit. $480 to replace the screen. Not as durable as they would lead you to believe. This unit was babied and still failed. They do not stand behind their products. Spend the extra $$ and buy a reputable brand.

Tonka, you haven't used all the options at your disposal. Before you completely bash the brand, consider filling out a complaint with the BBB online. They'll certainly help you get resolution. You might also find taking it back to the merchant is an option.

Dell, hp, gateway etc. don't make their own notebooks. What you should of done is bought the extended warranty and took it back to where you bought it from and told them the screen died and they would have replaced the notebook.
