    What is the relation between Compal and Hitachi?
    If you go to certain URLs such as "http://www.compal.com/asp/driver_dnd/main_bright.htm" it says Hitachi in the window title.

    I think Hitachi is selling rebranded Compal notebooks.

    They could make the world so much simpler if they just built labels that said "Asia Inside"..

    jetstar is probably right. Remember that Compal is the #2 ODM in the world behind Quanta.
