    Hi all

    I haver a mission for you all,I have a compal CY30-15.
What i need to know do compal use a standard size/type connector for the cd/dvd drives. As i need to find a new one.
Or even does the motherboard side of the compal laptops have a standard size connection . so if i buy a new drive with connector it will fit ?

I hope someone can help as im finding it hard to get any information on this and spares seem to be zero.

    Many Thanks

Notebooks optical drives are standardized... What you may need is some sort of bracket to hold it in place but you can just remove it from the old drive and place it on the new one. Newegg sell slim drives here.

I didn't use the bracket on my slim optical drive, sits fine the way it is.
