    Hello,

I am happy to announce I replaced the Compal EL80 screen using a screen from a HP notebook.

It's 15,4" and 30-pin and that seems all there is to it - the cable fits from the original panel, and so does the two pin "inverter"(? I guess that's what it is, the rectangular piece of electronics under the panel).

Cool as it is, despite the fact the original was 1280x800, this new 1920x1200 matte panel works beautifully :)

    Same question here.
Which other laptops may be used for screen swap?
    All with 30 pin connection?

    Thanks
