    Hello!

I have a Compal EL80 (Ahtec), but the Everest says that is a HEL80:

    Inter Core 2 Duo T7200
    2Gb RAM
Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 GS (256Mb)
    Samsung LTN154P1-L02 WSXGA [15.4" LCD]
    Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 (7200 r.p.m)

For better info that is what Everest shows:

    Motherboard

    GPU

What I want is to do is to optimize it for games, I have been reading about the HEL80 and the EL80 for all the morning but now I'm more confused :S

1.- Can I change the nvidia 7600 for another Graphic Card??

2.- What would you upgrade to my laptop??

3.- If I can't upgrade the GPU, whould be possible to overclock the Geforce Go 7600 GS????

    Thank's a lot!!!!!!

    1. No, you can't change the graphics card.

    2. You can add more memory, up to 4GB, but the chipset only "sees" like 3.5GB, and you need a 64 OS to see more than 3GB. You can also get a faster/bigger disk, like Seagate's 7200.4, but again, yours ir pretty good. The other thing you can change is the optical drive, as the included Lite-On (at leat on mine) was very incopatible with a lot of media.

    3. Yes, you can overclock, the stock clocks are 350/350 core/mem. I could get 450/400 with the 123B BIOS using ATItool, but your results may vary.

Thank's for replying ^_^ , can i use ATItool for overclock a Nvidia video card??
    Sounds a bit confusing :p

    EDIT:

In the compal site isn't available 123B bios, the latest version is an 122b
    http://www.compal.com/asp/driver_dnd/e_download.asp?M_path=/Download/NB/HEL80_81/HEL80/BIOS

Can I use the 122b or maybe I have to find the 123b ??

Can I tune mine as well, I was thinking about getting a higher resolution panel, I currently have an EL80 with WXGA, I would think about WSXGA+ since they are relatively cheap, second hand.

Would I need a new tape, or the current tape suites me fine?

Would I bump into any other problems?

Finally, what models should I be searching for?

I can get QD15AL01 / B154SW01 and Samsung LTN154P3. I could even get a LTN154P1-L02. These should do nicely, spec wise (30pin, WSXGA+), but will they be a good fit for the EL80?

What about WXGA+, I reckon I could fit the FL90+ panels onto the EL80? Would I here too run into problems? If not, what panels ought I to check out?

    Any help gladly appreciated...

I have tuned my graphic card to 450/400 and until now seems to work fine ^^
A lot of guys have recommended me this program http://www.techpowerup.com/systool/ for the cpu and memory clock upgrade, but it doesn't works whit the EL80 :SS

Do you know about another alternative soft?
