    Hi there,

I've got strange issue with my laptop Compal FL90. After I changed videocrd (8600 died) to ATI 3650, my computer started with black screen and the only way to use it was to use external monitor. After a lot of tries I found a strange, but working solution - I had to run my notebook wit almost closed lid. When i pressed power button and closed lid, it started normally, and I could open it full and use it as usually. Everything was great till yesterday. I had some problem with screen connector, so I had to pull it to pieces (just screen, not whole notebook). So i did it (while notebook was still runing), then I put everything together and it worked perfect. After few hours I turned it off and went sleep. Today in the morning I tried to start my notebook as usually (in almost-closed-lid way), but screen again doesn't work at all, same as year ago. It works with external monitor, but this internal one doesn't work even with almost-closed-lid. I'm really confused, because I've just put it together, and it worked yesterday.

Shortcut "Fn+F3" doesn't work either, notebook goes sleep mode when i close lid. At resolution options, in display section shows: "1. Display device on: AVG" (I've started computer with internal screen, then I connected external one. If I start with external on startup, in display section shows me name of this external one).

Do you have any idea what could I mess up?

    Thanks in advance,

    Peter vel g-zs

    I've got DDR2, 512 MB version.
OS windows 7 and BIOS v1.18

    edit:
OK, it seems that I solved the problem! :) I decided to pull into pieces this screen once again and what i found, there were dozens cables connecting screen with motherboard. Two of them were cut off. So I soldered them and now its working, even better than before, because I don't have to start my notebook with closed lid :) That was just stupid coincidence, probably I messd it up during video card replacing. Thanks for reply, I hope that my problem and this solution will help someone :)
