Hi.
I disassemble my compal FL90 to clean it, and in the proccess i think i break the flat flex ribbon/cable from the touchpad to the motherboard. I don't have the laptop there, im at work, i remember that this cable has 6 pin (maybe 7).
Can someone tellme the exact cable?? and i online shop to buy it?
Thx.
PD: sorry about my worst english.

Are you sure it's dead?

Double check the connectors... I failed to connect it correctly two times... it's kinda tricky to find out the right way to plug it in, because the connector is mirror-inverted. However, it seems to be a bit sensible because I somehow broke one of the LEDs (the one indicating mute) :-/
Edit: OK, nevermind, I thought you were talking about the touch panel. What makes you sure you broke the cable, any indication? -
Well, i plug the touchpad ribbon to the motherboard a few times, whith the same results. I try to flip the cable, the conector of the motherboard to the touchpad, and the conector or the TP to the MB, and no works. I asumed that i break some PIN.
In the panel, i break too the mute LED, its strange because the first time, when i assembly the notebook, the LED light very well, but after a reboot, it never bright again... For me its ok, because i hate that brightly LED...
I bought a new cable, in ebay, AWM 20798 E234897 80C 60 V VW, thats the ribbon of the touchpad, butttttttttttt its 12 PIN, i need the 6 PIN, i hope i can split the cable in 2 PIN ribbons....
Thx for your help. -
...How did you manage to break so many things?
