    Hello,
I have a compal gl30 with a fujitsu 120gb 5400rpm hdd (I think it is SATA 1.5gb/s). I think my HDD is toast and I'm looking to get a new one.

    Questions:
Will the GL30 support a 3.0gb/s SATAII HDD? Will it support a 320gb HDD?

I saw this one on NewEgg and it looks like the one to get:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152111

Unless you guys think it's really really worth it to upgrade to a SATA II 3.0gb/s drive (assuming the GL30 will support it). If it doesn't, I'll just buy this one. If it does, I might upgrade to that if it's really going to access my files twice as fast...is that the case w/ SATA II vs regular SATA in notebooks?

If 3.0gb/s is WAY faster access and write times and copy times and GL30 supports it, I will upgrade to either http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136197 OR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145227, whichever one you guys recommend.

    Thanks,
    Ezra
P.S. I really want to get this in the next 12 hours if you guys can respond soon. :)

The GL30 uses the Intel 945PM/ICH7-M Chipset.

    1st question: ICH7-M supports SATA 3Gb/s
    2nd question: Not sure

I would order the Hitachi hard drive, because of the Mail-In-Rebate.
