So I am just about to order my Compal HEL80 and just realized I did not think about the response times on the LCD screens. I did this while considering my LCD for my desktop, does anyone know the response times that come on the two LCD options from powernotebooks.com? I am most likely getting the 1680x1050 matte screen, but want to know if there is ghosting issues with either while playing games.

the display has a 25ms response time. Realize that advertised response times are not necessarily equal to one another. I've seen lcd responsed listed at 8ms.. but what does that really mean? From off to on, black to white.. or, OFF to ON to OFF, thus a full cycle, or something made up by the vendor as a test. In which case you should be ware marketing B.S. If you search you'll probably find topics about this already.. Everyone wants a good screen for gaming. All accounts say this Hel80 has no ghosting issue what so ever! Welcome to the forums, and good luck in your search

I can say that I do not notice any ghosting on my WSXGA+ matte screen. Or if it's there--as it on every LCD--I am unable to see it.

And as Jimy mentioned above, it is a 25ms response time LCD. I wouldn't worry about ghosting.

I second this.. I've had older LCD's that ghosted, and its been years since i've owned a screen that did that. The HEL-80 is no exception.
