I just bought a Compal HEL80 from powernotebooks.com and got a 1gig stick of Corsair DDR2 667mhz memory put in. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what model this stick is by Corsair. I'm guessing it is a ValueSelect piece, but want to know the most specific specs known about it as possible. (Cas Latentcy, Timings, etc.) The reason I ask is I am considering just buying another 1gig stick to max out the memory now and thought it would be best to match the sticks as closely as possible. Thanks for your responses in advance.

Did it not occur to you to just ask powernotebooks? Or order the part from them since they are always comparable in price... I hope you weren't trying to be sneaky about ordering a stick NOT from them, since Donald is an active participant on this forum =P

No I was not trying to "sneak" anything at all. I simply had some second thoughts on my order concerning the memory and thought maybe it wouldn't be bad to get a 2nd stick anyway since I most certainly will for Vista when I decide to change from XP. At first I though it should wait based on money, but decided whats the difference of 100 dollars now or in 1-2 months. I also saw the performance increases to be had simply by having duel channel, even if overall memory size isn't increased. Anyway, please don't think I am trying to "stick it to them", I have had nothing but a good experience with them.

I'm going to bet if you contacted Donald, that you would get a very comparable price for that extra stick of ram, plus, you would be able to guarantee it's the same type, as well as keep your warranty localized to one seller/contact which would make things simpler in the future.

I agree that it's worth talking to Donald about it. At the very least, he'd be able to tell you exactly what RAM it is in your system.
