Hi, while playing Counter-Strike or other FPS games the audio will start stuttering when I shoot my gun and eventually cause my laptop to freeze. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my Realtek audio driver, but that didn't seem to do anything. Can anyone help me fix this problem? Thanks.

I also found that whenever i turn the sound off, it works fine.

    What operating system?

You might also try upgrading your video and network drivers. That sounds unrelated I know, but sometimes the effects are weird.

The OS is Vista. I'll try to get the latest video and network drivers and see if that does anything.

Do you play with headphones/external speakers?
    Or with the laptop's speakers?
There is a thread with people experimenting freezing when the sound was playing on the laptop's speakers (including me).

Kind of, I either lower the sound or play with external speakers or headphones. I couldn't find any other way to fix it.

Ok thanks! I guess that's probably what I'll have to do. I can live with it, but it just bothered me.
