The machine you have isn't bad. If you stuck another 256MB or 512MB of RAM in it, it'd still be a pretty nice machine. That's the only part that's really hampering you.

That's what I always thought, but the main thing that i upgraded was the DVD RW from Sony, Plus everytime I considered more memory I just remembered that it can still trudge along with what is has.

Also I just learned that I could have gotten it today at 11:15, but I didn't hear it :(, I knew Powernotebooks would be to fast for their own good :), I got the Email with the tracking number at 1:00 PM LOL! oh well, guess I'll wait till tomorrow.

figures...not even the big manufacturers can get these out the door when the little guys can ship within a week of c2d being available.

    congradulations though

BTW, ignore that earlier comment about wanted to put more memory in it...he has 2GB, you have 2GB, so no probs

That I did ;) But I'm quite serious. You'll be absolutely amazed at the difference another 512MB will make in your desktop there. It's only $50 or so from www.newegg.com for the RAM, and it'll give you two very usable machines.

Unfortunately even if i did upgrade, I still wouldn't have the space in my dorm, but if i were to upgrade, my mom and little brother would both be happy as they will have complete access to it while im gone :).

All the more reason to do so, then. Heck, get your mom to pay for it ;) Not like your new system will have as much video RAM as your old machine has system RAM... hehe.

I'll have to see, I already was going to borrow the 256, from the comp she doesn't use much, when she isn't home so i don't get in her way, and see what Vista RC1 has to offer. Especially since Im just going to reinstall XP anyway.

There must be a mistake here. We have not shipped any PowerPro L 8:15 laptops with the Core 2 Duo.

Better email your Sales Advisor to clear up this misunderstanding

And I would Like to thank Paladin and Ron for their quick help! Any other vendor and I wouldn't have known until it was to late! Now there is still hope it'll be here before the 19th! Especially since it came early this time! LOL!

Congrats :) Time to change your sig, eh? Heheh. I'm still waiting on the 7xxx class C2D's. Apparently HP and other big-namers are taking precedence over the quality ships like powernotebooks. Silly economic favoritism...

Not a prob Nemesis, so far (up until now i have been transfering files) it is completely amazing! The only game i tried, SW Empire at War, worked SIGNIFICANTLY faster then it did on my desktop, at native resolution, of course I only went as far as the main menu! The TV tuner is good, although so far Beyond TV does not work. And the screen is Beautiful. tTe pictures of this notebook do NOT come even close to doing it justice! The box may be plain brown, but when I opened it, i WAS astounded, as was my mom who was next to me, for the unveiling! And PowerNotebooks support IS AWESOME, Ron is a very funny guy, VERY knowledgable, and was EXTREMELY helpful! Will post more, when i get to school and get a chance to try more. would post pics, but my desktop is defragging, and i haven't installed the drivers for my camera yet on this baby! lol On a side note, the integrated webcam, while no stand alone Quickcam 4000, does it's job admirably.

AND, the HEL80/PowerPro L 8:15, is exceptionally quiet, even when the fan is on, I couldn't even hear it over my desktop! My ears already feel better! lol

Yes, I DO LOVE that Matte Screen, although the Glossy of my roommates Z96J is also pretty good! Now, I will get back to setting up the network connections on his, and a friends comp, as apparently I am the first to actually get the wired and wireless connections to work!

That's weird, for mine, the wired OR the wireless works. If one is not working then the other automatically kicks in.
