I am using Kubuntu 7.01 Feisty Fawn and here are results:
Processor: Core 2 Duo T5600 - Works(both cores work)
Memory: 2x512Mb - Works
Graphics: Intel 945GM - Works, but not very good, runs beryl but is a bit slow.
Audio: Realtek - Works louder than in windows
LAN: Works
Wifi: Works
Bluetooth: Even better than in windows, better software under linux than under windows.
Integrated Camera: Haven't tried, but linux recognizes it.
DVD-Writer/Reader: Works
Memory Card Reader: Haven't tried
PCMCIA slot: haven't tried
LCD brightness buttons: Work
Volume and Player buttons: Must be set up and work

Linux recognizes your camera? It didn't on my HGL30. But my volume and player buttons all worked out of the box with Feisty (which is 7.04, btw. Year, then month of the release)

If its any like the one on the HEL80, check out my posts in the Linux thread about HEL80, it doesn't work yet but work is 'underway'. same regards the fingerprint reader (that is if they're the same on GL80/81 and hel).
the screen brightness buttons don't work (any longer) on my compal HEL80 (vista biost broke it).
btw, whats your glxgears output (in failsafe X session, i.e. just an xterm, no extra background services but the default required to boot and run X + network)?

gladly inform that there is a binary only (unfortunately) driver for ubuntu i686 for the camera.

and here's my rant about it:
