I'm thinking about picking up this notebook:

I'm curious if any of you happen to own it and if so, let me know how you like it? I'm really interested in the build quality, screen quality, and noise level. I'm looking for a solid notebook (can't stand cheap feeling/quality notebooks) with a nice screen and runs very quiet, if not silent. ;) I've never owned a Compal so I have no idea what they're like. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like it's the HGL31, which is th same notebook I have except it has the integrated graphics. Overall, I like the build quality. I'd rate it a step below my work Thinkpad for general feel. The screen (the glossy one) is quite clear, and good quality. Noise, it can be a little higher than on some machines, but that's to be expected because it's a 14" laptop. It's very quiet for the power it packs, though.
