Has anyone had any success on connecting to the internet on their hel80's? I can't seem to figure out to connect. Does anyone know what kind of ethernet adapter this computer has? If anyone knows how to connect to the internet please let me know. I've ran ubuntu on this laptop and internet worked perfectly. Thanks!

Under ubuntu? The wired adapter is a broadcom. The wireless could be one of many, depending on who made the machine for you. Mine is an Intel 3945 chip, which works perfectly in Ubuntu. Make sure your wireless switch isn't turned off.

The only suggestion I can think of is that your router might be set to only allow certain machines to connect, and while booted into linux you're not broadcasting the same ID information. Xterasys and a few other brands work this way. When using a Linux machine the IP is the only part of the machine that shows up with means you have to add another entry for the system while in linux to allow either wired/wireless and lan only/wan OK... -
I've just installed Kubuntu 6.10 Edgy without problems.
Th install doesn't detect the ethernet during install, but after the complete installation it detects the card, then just enable it and that's it.
The power management is a welcome addition to 6.10. Also automatic detection of special keys I think.

I first tried to do a dist-upgrade of 6.06 but that was not a good idea.
