First Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
I use my lappy mostly for work and school, however who doesn't like to game from time to time?!? I just got my compal about a month ago and didn't have a problem until I started to game. I started getting a NMI parity check error with the blue screen of death after about 40 or so min of gaming with anything that was graphics heavy. I of course updated all my drivers to see it that solved the problem, which it didn't. The NMI error is rather elusive so I also ran tests I could think of for the ram, since its often the cause of nmi error. letting both memtest86 and widows memcheck have turns of 1 hr a piece, however they came back normal. Don't know what else to check or if i should just send it back, i would rather solve it then send it back, since its my work pc.
info to my lappy,
Intel 7500 core 2 duo
Seagate 160GB 7200
Kingston 2GB RAM
XP PRO sp2
thanks for any advice

It does sound like RAM. Running memtest86 for an hour is not nearly long enough...it should run at least overnight.
Does your vendor have telephone or email tech support available? If they do I would recommend working with their technicians for professional help. -
VGA memory error, getting to hot!
-
It cant be that it gets too hot. I keep it ventilated so that all the vents are off the desk, also I have RiverTuner keeping an eye the temps. It never goes much above 78c when Im running a game (so under load), which for a 8600gt I hear is good, since Ive seen posts here of guys getting temps of 100c plus under load. Aside from that, I dont think 40 min of half life 2 or something like EAW should cause an error like this. I intend to do as paladin44 suggested and run it all night this weekend, with memtest and see what pops up.

good luck and let us know he result.
But my taught is the vga mem, my notebook mainboard is replaced after the first few days i received it.
Bad mobo, something with the mem of the vga was the result so keep it in mind.
