Hi, I was going through various reseller web pages, customizing the same laptop specs at each site. My question is, has anyone purchased this specific laptop from this company? If so, what were your thoughts? I have read many reviews of cyberpowerpc.com, and they seem to be a hit or miss company. Hopefully, if I order my laptop from them, I'll be one of the people who will have great success with cyberpowerpc.

I have purchased a desktop through cyberpower before. Beyond a problem with the RAID controller, they seemed to be OK. I don't know how their warranty service is, though, and I would be nervous about getting any notebook with a shoddy warranty, just because of how much can go wrong.

That is a good price! For what it's worth (have had my ifl90 for a little over a month), it seems to be a very well-built and sturdy machine, but I'm still glad to have the peace of mind that comes with a 3 year warranty, w/ overnite shipping both ways, if something breaks.

its not essentially a compal ifl 90, it is a compal ifl 90. My brother ordered one mid july and is still waiting, with nothing but problems. They tried making him downgrade his machine so he did. The very next day they coincidentally got a shipment of what he ordered but they told him he would have to cancel to get what he originally ordered. AND they charge you once you order, not like places like dell who charges you after the notebook ships.

ibuypower.com also has a cheap compal ifl 90/sager np2090 called the cz-7 pro. you might want to check that out too.

I could be wrong about this, but I think that cyberpower and ibuypower are (or were) the same company, just with different brandings. I know their site design was very similar for a long time, and their desktop configuration utilities were almost identical (down to the exact same parts). I never really researched it to find out if they actually WERE the same company, but it sure looked like it at a glance.

Funny you said that, i always thought the same thing. They do always have the same computers, they call them different things and upgrades cost the same. There are slight differences though, ibuypower charges a little bit more and ibuypower also does not let you buy a computer without an operating system.

Hey man, I just recently bought that laptop you're looking at and I'm on it right now!

I love this notebook a lot. Its got preformance, and it's an affordable price. It's not as heavy as you would think either - making this a great laptop on the go.

The only thing is that if you get the "No OS Save $83" thing, you must disable ACHD or w/e its called in bios, otherwise the installer doesn't recognize you're harddrive. And the drivers CD is for vista.... but you can easily get drivers for XP online.

Hope you order it, have fun,
    deagle

It's AHCI (Advanced Hardware Control Interface), and it only needs to be disabled if you're installing XP. Vista has support for AHCI built in.
