Hi, I currently have 2 sticks of 1GB in my IFL90. I recently bought 2 sticks of 2GB to replace them with but after installing, the laptop would not boot. If I replaced only one (for a total of 3GB), I could get into Vista but the graphics were ugly (lowest resolution possible).

Before returning the RAM modules I bought, I'd like to know if there is a software utility that exists that could tell me how much total RAM the motherboard in my IFL90 can support. Can anyone help?

The IFL90 can most definitely support 4GB of DDR2 RAM. Computers are fussy things; sometimes you'll simply encounter one brand of hardware (RAM, etc) that will work but another brand that won't.

Thanks Skriefal. Before I got ur response I downloaded Everest which confirmed that my PM965 chipset supports up to 4GB at 667Mhz. So now Im curious what should be my next step? One stick of Kingston 2GB 667Mhz works fine but when I add the second stick of the same, it wont boot up. My bios is 1.07.

Update your BIOS. If I recall correctly some of the early BIOS revisions had problems with 4GB of RAM installed. If you search this forum you should be able to locate pre-built, bootable ISO images that you can burn to a CD-R. At least version 1.16 should be available, and possibly 1.18. I know that 1.16 will definitely work, as that's what I'm running.
