A friend of mine recently bought a Compal HEL-80. Sometimes his laptop freezes when he tries to boot XP. This is what he asked me to post:
Does anyone know what the problem is? He's going back to the shop with the laptop, but if the solution to his problem is simple maybe he won't have to.

The hard drive doesn't have any bad sectors btw, tested that already.

That's a very odd issue. Where is he getting his drivers from? Send him to Bizcom to get the absolute latest HEL-80 drivers. Where did he get the laptop from? What does their support say about it?

Their support says he has to bring the laptop in, and that it's probably a memory of hard drive issue. He got the drivers from the CD.

Memory has been replaced, everything's fixed now. So, if anyone experiences such issue in the future, replace your memory!
