I have this weird problem since yesterday. When I boot my laptop, everything works flawlessly. But when I close the lid and then re-open it, the system completely hangs every 5 seconds or so. I have set the laptop to do nothing when I close the lid, but it still somehow manages to have my laptop hang every 5 seconds when I open it. When I look at the task manager, I see a sine-like curve of the CPU-usage, but when I look at the process list I can't identify which process is causing it because my system completely hangs during the lock-up.
Anyone know how to solve this problem? I'm thinking it's definitely a software issue, because it only occurs after opening the lid.
Btw, when I reboot my laptop everything is fine again. But I don't want to reboot my laptop everytime I close the lid.

Nothing frustates me more than an unresponsive computer. Process Explorer has a graph that will let you look back a bit to which process had the most activity. It's a tool from sysinternals: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/ProcessExplorer.mspx
