First, this forum is for Compal, not Compaq. Compaq would fall into the HP forum. Secondly, does your F700 have an nVidia graphics chip? If it does, just buy a new computer. Wireless not working is a sign that your system is about to bite the dust. I think maybe mobile nVidia chips from the GeForce 6 series up to the GeForce 8 series are basically all defective. There was a settlement that was done to reimburse people who had paid for out of warranty repairs on their notebooks or if it was an HP or Compaq, replace the system altogether. Regardless of how old the system is. However, the time to file a claim has passed. So basically, if you never took advantage of the settlement, you are SOL. It may be time to start shopping around for a new laptop.

Well, you could dump your device id here, and hope for help, or try Windows 7 as it would identify and install the driver correctly most of the time, or just get an USB WLAN adapter for 10€/$ - cheaper than a new laptop!

    Cheers
