I was wondering what your average STABLE overclock of your QX9300 in your OCZ whitebook. Do you find your notebook overheating when overclocking, or is the base cooling system in the OCZ doing its job well?

Also, is it bad to up your clock speed, and then drop it down too often? I was thinking of upping it when I needed it, and then dropping it back down when I was just browsing some websites, but I'm not sure of the rules on this sort of thing.

Any advice, and/or links to a good sources of knowledge would be much appreciated.

You can overclock the qx9300 to 3.0ghz stable. You will just need to remove the dust filters at the bottom of the computer and may be prop it up alittle bit. My max temp is around 82C which is not bad since these CPUs can go upto 95C. Idle temps are in mid to low 40s. You don't need to overclock and downclock it since speedstep technology does that for you.
